Yes, the threads we implant during arm threading are safe. PDO threads have been used in cardiac, vascular, and cosmetic surgery for decades. PLLA threads are also safe.

PDO threads gradually dissolve over a period of 6-12 months. However, the collagen stimulation they induce can extend the lifting effect beyond this period.

Most of our patients return to normal activities and the gym the following day. There is no downtime with a PDO arm lift. In fact, hydration and activity may help circulation in the arms and kickstart the healing process. However, very strenuous exercise involving the arms should be avoided for a couple weeks.

Below are some of the alternatives to arm rejuvenation that don’t leave unsightly scars or have prolonged downtime. The concept behind most of these treatments is to tighten the skin and boost firming and toning by generating collagen and elastin production.

• Superficial Liposuction – Even though liposuction is a household name, superficial liposuction is an entirely different technique from conventional liposuction. • Healite™️ Therapy – Healite therapy is an innovative device that offers a no-downtime, non-invasive approach to wound healing. It employs a unique method of photomodulation and photo sequencing, without the use of heat or ablative techniques, making it a groundbreaking tool in the field.

• Genius™️ by Lutronic and SecretRF™️ by Cutera – These are hybrid treatments that combine radio frequency heat applications with microneedling, which promotes both skin tightening and rejuvenation. There is little-to-no downtime with these procedures and treatment starts between $750 and $1,000.

• Fractional CO2 LASER – A total skin resurfacing option. A fractional CO2 laser stimulates skin rejuvenation, but patients should know that the procedure can be uncomfortable. Additionally, patients must stay out of the sun for several months during recovery.

• Microneedling with PRP – This treatment has been around for many years and promotes skin resurfacing. Microneedling creates microchanneling and promotes the body’s natural healing process. The PRP is a booster that helps speed up and intensify it.

• Sculptra Injections – Sculptra is PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid), which stimulates your body’s natural collagen and elastin production. It is FDA approved and can diminish the appearance of deep wrinkles and tighten skin on the arms.
