What is A Thread Lift & How Does It Work?
A Polydioxanone (PDO) thread lift is a non-invasive procedure that lifts loose or sagging skin and tightens the area through careful placement of biodegradable sutures. These sutures, or threads, are inserted beneath the skin after the patient receives an injection of local anesthetic. The threads are lined with small cone-shaped barbs that hook onto skin and underlying tissues, pulling them upwards.
The results of a thread lift can be seen immediately after treatment, but they also continue to build over time as natural collagen in the area is replenished. PDO threads stimulate the body’s healing processes, elevating collagen production. Collagen plumps, firms, and brightens the skin, creating a more supple, youthful appearance. Skin texture and strength also improve as the area heals.
